Salt Lake Ski Train – One Train, Seven Resorts
A plan to build Salt Lake Cities newest ski transportation system which will be an extension of the existing TRAX system.
With the Winer Olympics on the cards for Salt Lake City for 2034, a plan is being campaigned to build a Ski Train which has been modeled after various existing international ski resort train systems.
Seeing that a lot of the infrastructure for the Winter Olympic Games is already in place and a venue will not need to be built from scratch, the allotted money could be used to build a train system that could benefit Salt Lake City for decades to come.
The train system would have stops at Snowbird, Alta, Solitude, Brighton, Deer Valley, Park City, White Pine, Park City North, Kimball Junction/Olympic Park, Woodward/Jeremy Ranch and Mountain Dell.
As well as being used as a Ski Train, the train could be used as a commuter train for people from Summit County to work in Salt Lake for many years.
In the summer the train can be used for hiking, mountain biking as well as a commuter train for workers.
Visitors could fly into Salt Lake International Airport and catch the train to any of the 7 local ski resorts, not needing to rent a vehicle.
The train system would eliminate up to 90% of the vehicles from the Cottonwood Canyons and Wasatch Blvd.
